PRACTICAL INSTRUCTOR COURSE

The Safe-Tech Lift Truck Practical Trainer program will qualify the participants to conduct internal practical instruction and evaluation for new or experienced operators as per requirements of CSA B335-15. This program is suitable for previously certified operators who possess good communication skills and are competent on all lift truck classes and attachments used at your location. The one day program includes an in-class theory component and practical instruction on the equipment. Please note this program does not qualify the participant to conduct the theory component of a Lift Truck operator training program.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Safe-Tech Lift Truck Practical Trainer program will qualify the participants to conduct internal practical instruction and evaluation for new or experienced operators as per requirements of CSA B335-15.   • Current applicable legislation and guidelines
  • Hazard awareness
  • Operator responsibility
  • Pedestrian awareness
  • Right-of-way
  • Defensive operating
  • Basic and confined area manoeuvring
  • Working at height (lift truck specific)
  • Vehicle stability
  • Load integrity and selection
  • Dock area safety
  • Truck/trailer inspection, loading/offloading
  • Traveling on grades
  • Pre-shift inspection and reporting procedures
  • Battery charging and changing (when applicable)
  • Propane cylinder exchange (when applicable)
  • Practical training and evaluation techniques
  DURATION & LOCATION
  • Program is held on site and includes 4 – 5 hours in-class component followed by practical instruction on the floor
  PROGRAM INCLUDES
  • Record of training report
  • Written examinations
  • Safety rules
  • Individual wallet certificates (for participants with 80% passing score on both written and practical tests)
  • Framed wall certificate for company
  • Practical Trainer manual complete with: Safe-Tech Lift Truck Operator Training Manual, Ministry of Labour Guidelines, equipment specific pre-shift inspection forms, operator evaluation forms and practical operating tests

Duration


Up to 5 hours, depending on participants’ experience levels.

Assessment


A passing grade of 80% is required in order to receive a certificate.

Completion


Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive a PDF wall certificate and PDF wallet card for their records.
