General Inquiries
Do I need to have access to the powered equipment I’m being trained on?
Yes. Safe-Tech Training does not provide or have access to any powered equipment at our location.
What is Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)?
PPE is any device worn by a worker to protect against hazards. Some examples are respirators, gloves, ear plugs, hard hats, safety goggles, and safety shoes or boots.
Is Safe-Tech Training Chief Prevention Officer (CPO) approved for working at heights training?
Yes, we were the eleventh company to be approved for Working at Heights training in Ontario in 2015.
How often do I need to receive Working at Heights training?
Every three years following the initial training; workers will be required to complete a half day “refresher” training program delivered by a CPO-approved training provider. Please visit our Working at Heights training page for additional details.
My Working at Heights certificate has expired. Do I need to attend a full Working at Heights course again?
If you attended a full course after 2015, you are only ever required to attend a refresher course thereafter, even if your current certification has expired.
To find out if you are eligible for the refresher program, please use the Eligibility Checker. If invalid, please contact the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Trade, and Skills Development to inquire.
What is the difference between Working at Heights (Construction) vs. Fall Protection Industrial Establishments courses?
The Working at Heights (Construction) course falls Under O. Reg. 213/91 s.1(1) com:
Construction includes erection, alteration, repair, dismantling, demolition, structural maintenance, painting, land clearing, earth moving, concreting, the installation of any machinery or plant, and any work or undertaking in connection with a construction project.
The Industrial Fall Protection course applies to Industrial Establishments. Under R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 851, s. 3. applies to a several workplaces in Ontario, including offices and office buildings, factories, arenas, shops, restaurants, and logging operations.

Do your Lift Truck Programs comply with Ministry Standards
Our full-day interactive Lift Truck training session covers all aspects of lift truck operation, exceeding both the CSA Standard and the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development’s Guideline for the Safe Operation and maintenance of Powered Lift Trucks.
Does Safe-Tech provide online safety training?
No, Safe-Tech does not directly provide online training programs. Online Training is provided by a third party. Note: All documentation for online training will be issued by the course providers at BIS Training Solutions.
